GOOD FOOD. QUALITY INGREDIENTS. FRIENDLY SERVICE.
Who got us started
At Talk of the Town Café, our journey is one rooted in family, tradition, and a passion for great food. It all began over 30 years ago when our founder and owner, Hope, stepped into the culinary world in New York City. Raised in a Greek family with a chef for a mother, Hope quickly realized that food was more than just a meal—it was a way to bring people together.
How We Got Started
After honing her skills in the fast-paced New York culinary scene, Hope went on to work, manage, and own restaurants in Florida and North Carolina. Her experience, combined with her Greek heritage, shaped her love for high-quality, flavorful cooking with a Mediterranean twist.
How it all began
The turning point came when Hope catered an event for Mike Johnson Hickory Toyota. Impressed with her culinary talent, the dealership invited her to open a café on-site. She embraced the opportunity, and for the past 13 years, Talk of the Town Café has been proudly serving customers inside the dealership—a partnership built on mutual respect and great food.
Where we are now
At Talk of the Town Café, we’re all about making people feel at home. From our loyal regulars to new visitors, we aim to serve every guest like they’re part of the family. Our menu reflects Hope’s journey, blending fresh ingredients with a Mediterranean flair, inspired by her roots.
